(Scottsdale, AZ) -- Governor Jan Brewer has appointed William Thrift, M.D. as the newest member of the Arizona Medical Board.

Dr. Thrift is Board‐certified in Family Medicine and has been in private family practice in Prescott for the past 25 years. Dr. Thrift also serves on the associate faculty of Family and Community Medicine departments at University of Arizona, College of Medicine and Midwestern, Arizona College of Medicine.

The Arizona Medical Board has 12 members composed of eight physicians and four public members, one of whom must be a registered nurse. The members of the Board are appointed by the Governor and are confirmed by the State Senate.
